Tokyo Asakusa BlueWave Inn

Asakusa is the largest district of the city, situated on the Sumida River. It is famous for numerous shops, cinemas, night life and clubs, and recreation centers. The historic center of the district is Sensoij Temple, the oldest Buddhist temple, in Japan 83% of the population by religion are Buddhist. This temple was built for the goddess of Kannon, the most respected and beloved goddess, symbol of kindness and compassion for all who suffer. The ensemble consists of 10 buildings on a quite large, with three main gates each having its own symbol. Kaminarimon the main gate (Thunder Gate), Nakamise street leads to the temple hall Sensoij and is a major tourist attraction for people who come here - a variety of shops, restaurants and more traditional Japanese souvenirs.

It's a gate of Sensoji Temple. This gate with a huge red lantern is a famous landmark in Asakusa. The Chinese characters written on the lantern say "thunder" and "gate" (kaminari-mon).  
Sightseeing tours by rickshaws (jinriki-sha) are very popular in Asakusa. You can find many rickshaws around the Kaminarimon gate.

Asakusa Hanayashiki

It's a popular amusement park located near the Sensoji temple. Hanayashiki is one of the oldest amusement parks in Tokyo. Although the attractions are relatively compact, the atmosphere is cheerful.

Nakamise Street

It's a pedestrian mall leading to Senso-ji Temple from the Kaminari-mon. There are many shops sell traditional Japanese items and food line up on both sides of the street. If you are looking for souvenirs, this is a good place to shop. For example, you can buy washi (Japanese papers), casual kimono, Japanese dolls, manekineko (beckoning cats), sensu (Japanese fan), and lots more. Visitors also have fun eating traditional Japanese snacks.

Sumida Koen Park

Located along Sumida River on both Sumida-ku and Taito-ku sides. There are over 300 sakura trees in the park, and it's one of the most popular places for cherry blossom viewing in Tokyo.

Tokyo Cruise Ship Co. operates a variety of sightseeing boats along the Sumida River and on the Tokyo Bay. The boats are called suijo-bus (water bus) and are very popular among tourists. The Asakusa boarding terminal is located at the end of the Sumida park.
